How did we get here?
Growing up in Alabama, I never passed up an opportunity to be in the woods and around the ponds. Scouting, hunting, and camping adventures were some of my favorite things to do. Through those experiences I naturally grew to love and appreciate a good knife. As I got older, I also developed a love creating art and design work.
After high school and moving into college, I reached a crossroads and chose a career as a peace officer over art school. But years later I found myself determined to find a new artistic outlet and learn how to make something useful. I set out to learn to make knives at that time, but hardly knew exactly how to get started. While I didn’t get immediate traction with blades, I did stumble into the kydex gear industry and found myself making hundreds of holsters and knife sheaths over the course of several years.
Then, thanks to an elder within our church who is an experienced knife maker and expert tinkerer, we did a men’s group project and made knives over the course of the summer of 2015. That is when I got hooked and purchased my first grinder shortly thereafter. Within six months I had sold off almost all of my kydex shop and have been ‘nose to the grinding stone’ ever since, designing and making my blades as often as my spare time allows.
All of my knives are my own original designs (as much as a knife can be original!) and are built by the stock removal process in my home shop in Montevallo, Alabama.
Mission and Priorities
Above all, my efforts in everything are to glorify God.
I have been blessed beyond measure with a fantastic family. My beautiful wife made this website. My son, JC, likely helped out in making the knives you’re looking at. My other kids were probably out doing something awesome at that same time, and those are the people you are supporting when you buy a knife or tool from me.
I genuinely appreciate your support and hope that you find something you just have to have and use!
